Yerevan, Armenia – On July 2, 2024, the U.S. Embassy in Yerevan celebrated the 248th anniversary of the independence of the United States of America. Representatives of the Baha'i Community of Armenia were invited to participate in the event. The Baha'i delegation included individuals serving in academia, high-tech industries, and youth education training. This diverse group had an excellent opportunity to network, reconnect with old contacts, and engage with journalists, human rights advocates, and state officials. As a result of these interactions, several follow-up meetings were scheduled.
U.S. Ambassador Kristina Kvien, originally from Fresno, California, remarked, “I’m honored to host my second Independence Day event in Armenia, to celebrate the birth of the United States’ democracy, the strength of the U.S.-Armenia relationship, our shared democratic values—and a little bit of California food and culture.”
